The Heritage Library of Malabar is a unique initiative dedicated to preserving the literary, cultural, and historical memory of the region. From rare periodicals and textbooks to films and manuscripts, our collections span centuries of knowledge and tradition.

Our mission is to provide open access to digitized archives for both the common reader and the dedicated researcher. By bringing together books, journals, newspapers, and visual heritage, we aim to create a living archive that nurtures learning, critical inquiry, and cultural continuity.

In the near future, the library will also expand into a heritage museum and launch an in-house magazine to share new research and discoveries with a wider audience.

സാധാരണ വായനക്കാർക്കും സമർപ്പിത ഗവേഷകർക്കും ഡിജിറ്റൈസ്ഡ് ആർക്കൈവുകളിലേക്ക് തുറന്ന പ്രവേശനം നൽകുക എന്നതാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൗത്യം. പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ, ജേണലുകൾ, പത്രങ്ങൾ, ദൃശ്യപൈതൃകം എന്നിവ ഒരുമിച്ച് ചേർത്ത് പഠനം, വിമർശനാത്മക അന്വേഷണം, സാംസ്കാരിക തുടർച്ച എന്നിവയെ പോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ജീവനുള്ള ആർക്കൈവ് സൃഷ്ടിക്കുകയാണ് ലക്ഷ്യം.

അടുത്ത ഭാവിയിൽ ലൈബ്രറി ഒരു പൈതൃക മ്യൂസിയമായും വികസിക്കുകയും പുതിയ ഗവേഷണങ്ങളും കണ്ടെത്തലുകളും വിശാലമായ പ്രേക്ഷകരിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കാൻ സ്വന്തമായി ഒരു മാസിക പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

Heritage Library Timeline (ചരിത്ര യാത്ര)

1950s – Foundation of the Library

Heritage Library was established in Malabar, beginning with a modest collection of rare books, early periodicals, and cultural manuscripts.

ഹെറിറ്റേജ് ലൈബ്രറി മലബാറിൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായി. അപൂർവ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങൾ, ആദ്യകാല പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങൾ, സാംസ്കാരിക കൈയെഴുത്തുപ്രതികൾ എന്നിവയുടെ ചെറിയ ശേഖരത്തോടെയാണ് തുടക്കം.

1970s – Heritage Collections Grow

Rare Mappila periodicals, Muslim cultural writings, and historical documents from Malabar are added to the library, becoming a resource for community memory and scholarship.

അപൂർവ മാപ്പിള പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങൾ, മുസ്ലിം സാംസ്കാരിക രചനകൾ, മലബാറിലെ ചരിത്രരേഖകൾ എന്നിവ ലൈബ്രറിയിലേക്ക് ചേർക്കപ്പെട്ടു – സമുദായ ഓർമ്മയുടെയും പഠനത്തിന്റെയും ഒരു പ്രധാന സ്രോതസ്സായി മാറി.
